InvisalignWesterville Invisalign Provider

Invisalign® is the brand name behind the safest and most effective clear aligners used in the orthodontics world today. Invisalign® straightens your teeth without wires and brackets using a series of clear, customized, removable appliances called aligners. These aligners are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. The Invisalign® system combines advanced 3D computer graphics technology with 100-year-old science of orthodontics.

Dr. Salaita will work with Invisalign® to create a virtually simulated treatment plan for the alignment of your teeth and correction of your bite. These precise treatment instructions are then translated into a sequence of finely calibrated aligners to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment plan.

Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place as you change aligners approximately every two weeks. For best results, aligners need to be worn 22 hours/day and are only taken out to eat, brush and floss. To enable the most efficient tooth movement, tooth-colored attachments or buttons are bonded to certain teeth based on desired movements. These attachments allow the aligners to more effectively grab onto certain teeth and move them accordingly. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you are straightening your teeth.

Why Patients Consider Invisalign® With Salaita Orthodontics

You may have seen commercials on TV advertising mail order clear aligners. While this option may seem convenient, it is important to remember that straightening your teeth is a serious undertaking. When you are undergoing something as serious as moving your teeth around in your mouth, you want to be under the supervision of a team of professionals like the team at Salaita Orthodontics.

Even if we decide together that Invisalign® clear aligners are your best treatment option, we will recommend that you attend regular appointments to check in and make sure everything is going according to plan. You can use that opportunity to discuss any changes you might like to make to the plan, get any complaints or discomforts addressed, and have your health monitored by the professionals.

Furthermore, mail order clear aligners only address the aesthetics of your smile such as the straightness of your teeth. Since these clear aligners are a retail product rather than a medical plan, they do not address issues with bite — some of the most serious issues that orthodontics tackles. That is also why it is essential to work with an orthodontist who has been certified by Invisalign® to carry their product — just like Salaita Orthodontics has.

Invisalign FAQs

At Salaita Orthodontics, we understand that many patients want a straighter smile without the appearance of traditional braces. Invisalign® offers a comfortable, discreet way to correct many orthodontic concerns while fitting seamlessly into your daily routine. Below are answers to some of the most common questions about Invisalign treatment.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten teeth and improve your bite. Because the aligners are nearly invisible, many teens and adults choose Invisalign as a discreet alternative to traditional braces.

Who is a good candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign is an excellent option for many teens and adults with crowded teeth, gaps, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and other common orthodontic concerns. While many cases can be treated successfully with Invisalign, some complex bite problems may benefit from traditional braces. An orthodontic evaluation is the best way to determine which treatment is right for you.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Treatment time depends on your individual orthodontic needs. Many patients complete Invisalign treatment in about 6 to 18 months, while more complex cases may take longer. Wearing your aligners for the recommended 20 to 22 hours each day helps keep your treatment on schedule.

Does Invisalign hurt?

Most patients experience only mild pressure or soreness for a day or two after beginning treatment or switching to a new set of aligners. This temporary discomfort is a normal sign that your teeth are moving and typically resolves quickly.

How many hours a day do I need to wear Invisalign?

For the best results, Invisalign aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours each day, including while you sleep. They should only be removed for eating, drinking anything other than water, brushing, and flossing.

Can I eat or drink while wearing Invisalign?

No. You should remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water. This helps prevent staining, warping, and damage to the aligners. Before putting them back in, brush your teeth when possible or rinse your mouth to help keep your aligners clean.

How often do I change my Invisalign trays?

Most patients switch to a new set of aligners every one to two weeks, depending on their personalized treatment plan. During your regular appointments at our Westerville office, your orthodontist will monitor your progress and let you know if any adjustments are needed.

Is Invisalign better than braces?

Neither treatment is universally better—the right choice depends on your smile and treatment goals. Invisalign offers the convenience of removable, nearly invisible aligners, while traditional braces may be recommended for certain complex orthodontic cases. During your consultation, we’ll explain the benefits of each option and recommend the treatment that’s best for your needs.

Will I need a retainer after Invisalign?

Yes. Wearing a retainer after Invisalign is essential to maintaining your new smile. Teeth naturally tend to shift over time, so following your orthodontist’s retainer instructions helps preserve your results for years to come.

Why should I get Invisalign from an orthodontist?

Orthodontists receive specialized training in diagnosing bite problems and moving teeth safely and efficiently. At Salaita Orthodontics, your treatment is carefully planned, monitored throughout every stage, and adjusted when needed to help you achieve a healthy, lasting smile.
